What is body work?

Bodywork refers to various therapeutic or manipulative techniques focused on the body to improve its function, alleviate pain, enhance relaxation, or promote overall well-being.
It involves hands-on manipulation, pressure or movement of the body's soft tissues or skeletal structure. 
These techniques are often used to address physical issues, reduce stress, and improve the body's natural healing abilities.

Our licensed massage therapist Tisana uses a combination of techniques that she specializes in to create a session that is tailored to your specific needs. 
Details on these specific techniques are below.

 
Every massage will be different and include a combination of the below techniques and are used at discretion of our massage therapist to best fit your needs. 

We offer 60min and 90 min sessions.

Massage Therapy Modalities

Swedish (Relaxation)

Effective for improving circulation of blood & lymph, relaxing muscles, improving joint mobility & inducing general relaxation. 

Connective (Deep) Tissue Therapy

Also known as myofascial release.. This technique stretches fascial sheets, breaks fascial adhesions & leaves tissue softer & more pliable.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points can occur anywhere in the body. It feels like a nodule, can be tender to touch & can radiate pain to other areas within the body. Deactivation of primary trigger points provide relief from pain and begins to restore full function back to the muscle. 

Thai

A combination of pressure techniques, joint modifications assisted yoga-like stretching. Thai massage stimulates the body's self healing processes and corrects energy imbalances. This session is systematic & free flowing from one body region to the next. Performed on the floor on a mat or on a table. Both client & therapist are clothed & no oil is used. 

Neuromuscular Therapy

Specific pressure techniques to address muscle imbalances. Aims to relieve pain and dysfunction by applying sustained pressure to trigger points to release muscle tension and improve blood flow

What to expect..

1. Intake / session planning:  At the beginning of each session therapist and client will discuss clients past & current health history, review of medications if applicable, clients goals/intention and plan session appropriately. Each session is tailored to your individual therapeutic needs.

 

2. MassageAfter intake your therapist will begin your massage incorporating various therapeutic modalities that they feel will help you with achieving your goals. These modalities include anywhere from Swedish massage, Connective tissue massage (deep tissue), trigger point therapy, active and/or passive stretching, hydrotherapy & etc.
